Teaching

I teach future primary teachers and practising teachers on our master’s programme. My courses connect reading research to what happens in a real classroom on a Tuesday morning.

Teaching statement

Good reading teachers notice small things. A child who rereads a line. A child who skips the pictures. My courses train that kind of noticing, then ask students to test one small change in a real classroom.

Every course ends with a practical project instead of an exam. Students design a reading task, try it with children and report what happened, including what did not work.
